It is certainly very beautiful in that area and maybe it needs very special weather conditions to appear. What I can also say is that speaking to people who lived on the island, in the area and whom worked with tourists: they all claimed to have never seen it either. What I can say is that it did not appear to be in existence whilst I was on the island and that, despite looking, it did show itself. Without expert analysis on the photo's I cannot comment on that.
I understand that there are rumours that the pictures have been photoshopped and that this feature is not real. I climbed to the top of Le Morne, and still could not see what the tourist board has released. I spent almost two weeks in Mauritius (on this part of the island) and did not see the picture that has been released (presumably by the tourist board). But I was not going to stop my ignorance from witnessing such a spectacle. I thought a waterfall was a feature created by water falling from one height to another, generally through the air. I was quite excited as I didn't know that such a thing as underwater waterfalls existed. I am slightly surprised about this particular spectacle, however, as there seems to be doubt over whether it is there. It is clearly beautiful and many people have written about it with eloquence and poetry so I shan't try. Stating Mauritius is a beautiful island is a bit like saying water is wet. My first review was rejected, I can't recall the reason why, so I shall try to be very careful about how and what I word on this occasion.
